Places that are Other is a temporary darkroom that was installed in the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin.
A space that does not dissolve what is hidden, but instead makes it visible as a form of resistance and remembrance. Places such as parks, public toilets, or dimly lit corners are part of a queer topography that evolved out of a lack of safety. They are refuges and spaces of possibility for intimacy, solidarity, self-determination, and love.

The installation approaches the darkroom as both a form of resistance and an archive of fleeting encounters. Between sounds from the Tiergarten, fragments of voices, and ceramic traces, a web of memory, desire, and invisibility unfolds. Interior and exterior mirror one another, and what once lay in shadow becomes gently perceptible. An invitation to listen, explore, and understand urban spaces anew.
